My dream team

Lately, I have noticed lots of AI-generated fashion campaigns, and it’s got me thinking about the choice to employ AI over real people. I've been running lisa b. for almost 30 years, and have always found it pure magic in working with a team, especially on a photoshoot set. Being an independent business owner can be solitary work, so planning a new season’s marketing campaign with like-minded, creative visionaries is always the highlight of my year.

The day of a photoshoot is when everything starts to make sense - the designs, the location, the story you want to tell - it all becomes clear when the moving parts begin to take shape and creativity can run wild.

I've been so fortunate to have a devoted team to work with. Creative director Anthony Silvani (has been with me since the very beginning when I launched my business), photographer Nick Paton (was pulled into our team when he was a mere babe), Jen Watts, director of all things Ecomm and Digital (otherwise known as “My Jen” and the woman who has an arsenal of tools in her toolbox for whatever needs may arise), and Leila Gordon our stylist and social media creator (and newest team member with so much talent it blows my mind!). It’s unimaginable what can be achieved with this talented, generous, devoted team. Add in a multitude of incredible models, close friends (who are always up for anything) and stunning locations and the result is something with heart and soul. I believe that this could never be replaced with AI.

Shiny new technologies have arrived and only continue to become intertwined in our daily lives. Although AI is a modern tool, I believe we should leave the creativity and analog magic to real people.

P.S. I’ve long admired this GAP Khaki’s commercial. I would've loved to have been in the room when the team created this campaign. Enjoy! :
